Consulting

Most of the research executed by The Bathwick Group goes unpublished. Whether garnered in bespoke projects for clients, or as a part of our benchmarking operations, most of our quantitative and qualitative research is used to build and populate our industry models.

Over the past four years, we have continued to refine our models, including examples such as:

  • The IT procurement maturity model
    • Describes how organisations really buy IT and Communications technologies, why, and what the outcome is for both buyer and seller
  • The synaptic markets model
    • Describes the development of networked markets, the effect on organisational structures, and how companies can become more flexible and competitive using IT
  • The productivity and effectiveness model
    • Models how an organisation's information infrastructure determines its economic performance
  • The IT industry development model
    • Describes how the development of the industry, IT usage, and key technologies has moved over the past 40 years, and how the industry will be led over the next 5-10 years

The models provide interesting output in their own right, but are most useful in executing consulting projects, such as:
  • For end-user organisations
    • To determine their procurement effectiveness
    • To map their technology infrastructure effectiveness and locate the best returning areas for future investment
    • To understand and plan for technology-driven change
  • For vendors
    • Product/service portfolio development and management
    • Positioning and messaging development and testing
    • Go-to-market programme development and execution
